Yesterday, I got my official cap and gown! It's red and I cannot wait to wear it! It fits pretty well.. (lol, it's a loose piece of fabric so why wouldn't it fit haha) I can't believe it's mine! I'm not sure if I want to decorate my cap at the moment since I don't have any ideas... I have been looking for graduation dresses though. Typically girls wear white dresses and I was thinking of going that route, but it seems that my graduation gown is thick enough to wear a dark dress. I was considering a black or gold dress possibly with a baroque pattern? I just need to find one!
You might remember in a recent post, I mentioned something about an awards/scholarship night. Well the night happened and it turns out, I didn't get a single award. However, I did get quite a few scholarships which made up for the no awards part haha! (I'll be honest and say that scholarships are a tiny bit more important to me than awards!) Without going into too much details, I was able to get two $1000 scholarship along with a $500 and a $300!! Whoo.. all my extra essays paid off! I was so excited to hear my name called since this is quite important!!
After the award show ended around 8:15, we picked up some refreshments and headed out to pick up a few items. Last week was super tiring since I had appointments back to back along with nights at school and things to pick up. It was enjoyable, but exhausting! We got some snacks for the home as well as gifts for a few of my favorite teachers! While out, we stopped for some dinner which was froyo! I know it's not the healthiest, but ohh well!
|Due to my daily 5-6 hr of sleep, my eyes look incredibly tired.. I will catch up on my sleep next week!!!|
Something exciting also happened last week. I went in for my first job interview! I was looking for a summer job before college and it came down to me having two options for jobs. The 1st option was to be a cashier at a local grocery store which seemed like a decent job. The 2nd option was a door to door sales person for my city.
Obviously being a cashier seems like the easier job. I get air conditioning and I don't have to work as hard. However, something about being a sales person seemed to reel me in. Even though I complain everyday about the heat and sweat, I love being outside! The thought of being stuck inside all day in the summer feels like torture to me. Plus I love exercise and I know that having to walk door to door for 3-4 hours a day will surely provide me with plenty of physical activity! (Hello toned legs!)
In the end, I chose to go to the interview for the door to door sales person position. This was my first interview so I basically went in completely clueless of how to act! I just acted like myself and in the end, I found out that I was hired!!!
|A tortoise that I saw along my way to my interview!|
I literally start my job tomorrow and it goes from 12-8 pm every day. I'm super excited to see how it works out!! I'll keep you guys updated and the prom post will go up this weekend I promise! =)
Do you still remember your senior year?
What was your first "real" job?
Ideas for my graduation cap or should I just leave it plain? =)
