I'm super excited for this week!! Not only is it my 18th birthday on Tuesday, but I also get to leave for New York on Thursday for a 3-4 day college visit! I can't wait to go, but at the same time, I am a bit nervous because I will be going all by myself. I have to find my way to the hotel and colleges by myself =0 I've been looking at maps like crazy trying to figure it out. My hotel is less than a mile from most of my colleges, so I plan to walk everywhere! And even cooler is that the hotel has 50+ stories!! I am scared of heights, but I just think that it's crazy how I could potentially be that high in the air haha! I wish I knew which floor I was on right now!
I booked my hotel last week and gosh was it expensive! Since I planned to walk everywhere, it was crucial that I get a hotel close to my colleges and well NYC is just overall expensive. The price advertised for the room wasn't the only cost.. apparently there is a 14.75% tax and like $3 tip per night plus something with parking? Well, let's just say that this hotel better be amazing for the cost.. I don't know if I would be able to afford living in the city by myself if I choose to go to college there!
Now onto my outfit for today! -
I recently made a mini purchase from wet seal with their buy 1 get 1 for a penny sale (is that what it is called haha) and I plan to do a haul later! In my purchases, I got myself a pair of booties and riding boots that you see me wearing here. I've always had a mini fear for any shoes with heels, and I would only wear them for special events. However, throughout these past 2 years or so, I have been attending more events where heels were a requirement and I think I've gotten used to wearing them now! haha. I put them on and it feels almost natural to me. I don't know how that happened, but it's a good thing!!
To style these boots, I chose to go a simpler route. I paired my boots with some thick knit leggings and a gray cardigan on top of a pink cami. The leggings are quite thick and comfortable and so is the cardigan. This cardigan is actually probably the softest cardigan I have worn! It also stretches very well. I think it has to do with the material that it is made of. It doesn't make my skin itch like others which I am happy about.
For accessories, I also chose to do wear my fox ring that I got during Black Friday. It's actually quite the statement piece and I love wearing it to spice up a simple outfit. The ring is designed beautifully and I love the crystals on it. The weather has been a bit dark today since snow is coming our way tonight. In fact, there were actually some flurries today when I was taking my photos. Apparently 3-8 inches is coming our way so I'm crossing my fingers for no school tomorrow haha!

Are you a fan of boots?
What did you do for your 18th birthday? I'm probably going to go out for dinner later next week because I have school on Tuesday and the snowstorm is going to make driving hard... haha
Any tips for me on my trip? I'm actually kinda nervous that I will get lost.. I have the worst luck when it comes to things!
