My post this week will be a mini update on my week including some nail polishes I picked up. I don't think I will be keeping any of these polishes though because it is my friend's birthday this weekend and I think I will be giving them to her instead. =)
My weekend started with some cheesecake! My mom and I went grocery shopping and since the cheesecake was on sale and I LOVE cheesecake (especially the crust), I picked up a few slices. It was so good.
Before meets, my team usually has a pasta party so we can "carb load " before a meet. We typically host a party at someone's house, but today we chose to go to Panera Bread instead. It might just be my mind, but I find that carb loading does help me a bit before a meet. I feel like I have more energy especially at the end of the 5k where I tend to lose energy. For my meal, I chose to get the "you pick two." It was basically a deal when you get 1/2 a sandwich and 1/2 a salad for a set price (I think it was 6.99 or 7.99) and a dessert for .99. The sandwich I chose to get was my favorite, the Mediterranean veggie. This sandwich has avocado and feta cheese in it which tastes amazing! The salad I got was a regular salad and I was also given a bag of chips. The dessert I chose to get was a chocolate chip muffle. A muffle is basically the top of a muffin top =)
These were my racing spikes after my race yesterday. Spikes are basically super light shoes used for racing. Because they are so light, you are technally suppose to be able to run faster since your feet feel lighter. There are also spikes you can put in the front of these shoes. These spikes propel you forward and help you better grip into the ground. It took me FOREVER to get my spikes out the day before the race. I had forgotten to take them out for the longest time and when I went to take them out, they were so worn down that it took several wrenches and 2+ hours to get all of them out. I was so scared that they would be stuck in there forever. I sure learned my lesson!
On my nails this week was a color from Julep that I received in a giveaway this year. This color is so unique and reminds me a lot of the leaves in fall. The color is called Evangeline and I really like it. I have only 1 layer of this polish on which shows how strong the color is. I also have a topcoat from l'oreal on and I apply the topcoat every 3 days to keep my polish from chipping. So far, it is paying off because my nails are still perfect!
Today I was able to pick up 3 new nail polishes! Shopping for makeup and clothes always makes me so excited! I really love these colors and I would love to be able to keep them for myself (especially the mint/blue one) , but I think I will be either giving them to my friend or donate it to my club's basket for a basket raffle. What I do with them depends on if I can find another gift for my friend before Sat. hehe, I am the worst when it comes to gifts!
This color is called Peach Daiquiri and it is from Essie. This nail polish is just bursting with color and I love how bright and bold it is. Looking at it makes me very happy!
Mint candy apple, also from Essie, has to be my favorite color out of the 3 polishes. Online the color looks a bit green, but in real life, I would say it is more of a blue, mint , and cream color. I'm not complaining because the color is beautiful. This color would look beautiful for any season in my opinion. Maybe I will keep this color for myself hehe.
This is a pretty unique color as well. In the bottle it looks like a dark red/orange, but online, the color seems to resemble more of an electric coral. It is definitely unique in that sense! I have used sally hansen's complete salon manicure line before and this polish has a really good formula in my opinion. I still apply a top coat, but I find this line to last the longest for me before chipping!
Do you like Panera? I personally am a huge fan of the restaurant! Even though it is a bit more costly than other places, the food is so worth it!
Which nail polish color is your favorite?
