I miss my cousins who I was staying with, their kids, the neighborhood, the food... I just miss the whole atmosphere of being there. Connecticut just seems so boring compared to the city! My life right now isof in full swing. Despite it only being the first few days of school, I find myself to be getting much more work than I remember in the past. =( The positive side of this though is that I have only 6 classes instead of 8. This leaves me with an "off" block a.k.a., a 70 min HW hall everyday!
Now let's stop talking about school since I will probably write about that a lot later, and focus on my amazing vacation! I was deciding whether to write more about my vacation or post more pictures of my vacation. I usually do a mix, but as I was going through my photos (all 250 +), I realized I have a lot of photos I want to share! So my vacation shall be told in pictures and a minimum amount of words instead!

Gifts For My Cousins!! |
The things I dread about vacation include packing, leaving (cries) and unpacking! It takes me forever to unpack after a vacation and to be honest, I still had some stuff left in my bags to unpack before I repacked for this vacation! I also managed to pick up a few gifts for my little cousins. =) I got them each a plate: the owl for the girl and cars for the boys. Since I know the girl a bit better, I also got her some EOS lip balms and princess polishes!
My vacation starts here at Mohegan Sun. I am actually here just to catch the bus that goes to New York. A drive to New York is very tiring and my mom and I would much rather just take a bus! Plus it's much more environment friendly. I can also be a loser and sleep on the bus the whole time hehe. =)
Our bus left around 9:30 and we ended up in N.Y. a little past 1. I am not clear about the ride itself since I was deep asleep, but I do remember waking up to traffic once. If we are extra lucky, the bus can get to N.Y. before 12:30! That happened once and I was amazed at what a difference no traffic can make! I personally love the city, but I cannot imagine sitting in traffic for hours a day. Talk about a waste of time!! (at least for me who is always looking for extra time!) When we got off the bus, the first thing my mommy and I did was get lunch!! I LOVE the food at Chinese bakeries over rice/vegetables like my mom, so we went to the Chinese bakery to pick up food. I had a bite of everything we got hehe.
Here are the little kids! The little girl was ecstatic to see me as well as the little guy... after he woke up from his nap! They are so cute!! I also gave them their gifts and the little girl loved her nail polish! In fact she began using the polish as she was riding in the car!

Checking out my blog! |
I was able to stay at their house until school started. For them, school started Sep. 9 so they thought I was staying for that long, but in reality, school for me started Aug. 28!! At the house, I basically just played with the kids which was a lot of fun. I love children and my cousin't children are the cutest things ever!
I gave a few lip balms to the little girl and the boy was so interested in them. He had to smell everything including the nail polish. After he asked me to get him some car nail polishes for him next time I come! He is too cute!
One thing that I did with the kids was quite interesting. They showed me how they like to help their parent's out while having fun by cutting the grass. The only thing though is that they cut the grass with scissors!! How adorable??! I can't imagine how hard it actually would be to cut the entire yard with scissors though! We managed to cut the grass for ~5 min before we broke out in a game of tag. Eventually our game of tag with each other turned into one with the mosquitoes! There were so many mosquitoes outside! I think I came in with 7 bites that day!

I break the slide as soon as I get on ... =) |
We also had some fun with the airbed! Since my cousins generously let me sleep and live in their home, they kinda ran out of beds for me to sleep on. Their house is the perfect size for them, but when they add me into it, they run out of beds. So here comes the airbed! What happened with the sleeping situation was that I slept in the girls room where the boy was suppose to sleep. The little boy was pushed to the parent's room where he slept on the airbed!
We had lots of fun on that airbed as far as jumping and sliding on it. We actually made a slide with it which was really cool though I don't think it was made for people my size. I broke the slide as soon as I sat on. We even were able to get the air bed downstairs! The kids loved watching movies on the airbed while I did my homework. The time between this post and my vacation was not enough time for me to finish my work so I had to bring my books with me!
These photos are literally my favorite! It seems like when I go there, I always end up doing something strange. This time I got the little boy to go into a dress!! It was really his idea because as the little girl and I were trying on our "fairy wings" and Halloween costumes, the boy wanted to join in on the fun! Who can blame him, we were laughing quite loudly. I guess he was jealous of how much fun we were having.. plus he wanted to wear a set of wings to because they looked cool!
He was the cutest thing in a dress I tell you!!!
This pretty much concludes my adventures in New York!! A lot more happened there, (such a the delicious cheesecake factory!!) but unfortunately I do not have photos of them. My cousins have the ones from the cheesecake factory so I shall ask for them. We were celebrating the little girl's 7th birthday there~! I wish I was there right now and not at school. I know this fall is going to be exhausting mentally and physically. I have to apply to collages (hello Uconn maybe?) and lead the cross country team!!
Did you go on any vacations this summer?
Was your senior year busy or relaxing?
Do You find that being with kids makes you act like a child yourself? since I was spending hours everyday with the kids, I found myself acting a lot more like a child... hehe. I miss being a kid!!

DeleteI grew up in a calm country city, but I went to a big city like NY as I went to college and I'm still here, 10 years later! I love so much living in a big city, but I must say I'm still not used to this active life, as I always get anxious and looking for silence!
ReplyDeleteIt looks that you had a lot of fun with your cousins!! You seem to be a good cousin! That's awesome!! They're so cute!!
Have a nice day!
