It was my mommy's birthday last week!!! If you remember from my
birthday post , in our family we typically go out for dinner to celebrate birthdays. We don't get out that often for dinner which makes birthday dinners extra special. Since it was my mom's birthday, she got to pick the restaurant to go to and she decided to choose a Chinese restaurant! This place has been quite popular among her friends and she has been eyeing this restaurant forever. She was beyond excited to go!
We all got ready and we were planning to go around 6:30 ish, but in reality, we could not get ready until 7:30 ish haha. My mom spent literally forever deciding what to wear.

Sorry about the blur, but my sister refused to be shown haha |
The outside of the restaurant was really nice, but the best part of it was the inside. The interior design of the restaurant was amazing. I expected it to be decent looking inside, but it was much more than that. There was a purple tint from the lights in some place which I loved and the lights were so pretty. My favorite part had to be the tiny fishes in the center of the room! They were so cute!

ohhh so pretty!! |
We were seated in a booth and given menus. We later found out that the owner of the restaurant remembers me since I was friends with someone in her family! (crazy right? , I thought she wouldn't recognize me without makeup on and my hair down) During our meal ,she actually sat down We ordered our drinks first and then our appetizers. They had quite a nice selection, however being a vegetarian made it a bit hard to find something I like... and to be honest, I am not a big fan of Chinese food. ( I only like their desserts!)

For our drinks, we went for the usual. My mom got orange juice, my sister ordered ginger ale, while I got tea! Our appetizer choices were a bit more difficult to make since we rarely go out to a Chinese restaurant. I personally know if I liked any of things on the menu so I chose to get french fries. My sister ordered the spring roll while my mom got the steamed dumplings. The french fries tasted like any other french fries in my opinion, but I thought the way they presented them along with the ketchup was really cute. The fries came in a silver bowl while the ketchup was served to use in a mini Chinese style bowl (too cute!)
For our meal, we each chose something different. My mom chose a dish that she had heard a lot about from her friends. It was the eggplant and fish (I think that is what it was called) Since I don't eat fish, I had some of the eggplant. The eggplant was cooked and seasoned pretty good, but to be honest, I couldn't stand the seafood smell. haha
My sister wanted some noodles, but wasn't sure which one to get. She ended up stuck between two different types of noodles with chicken. I told her to asked the waitress which one was tastier and the waitress replied with the low mein with chicken.
I personally had a bit of trouble selecting a dish (well, my choices were limited as far as looking for a meatless dish) I know I really liked their tofu so I focused on finding a dish with tofu. I ended up seeing a few dishes but finally settled on with the "crystal noodles with fried tofu and vegetables." I didn't know what crystal noodles were, but I really liked the name. It turns out crystal noodles were something that I ate at home and liked!
I thought the noodles were pretty good. They weren't my favorite thing (keep in mind, I'm not that fond of chinese food), but the tofu was delicious. Most of the meal however, came from my tea, french fries, and tofu though haha. My sister and mom absolutely loved the food there which was good!!
Overall, I really enjoyed our night out. The atmosphere in the restaurant was amazing and the workers there were extremely welcoming to us! We ended up being at the restaurant until 9:15 ish and we ended our night with pictures!! It was pitch black outside except for the street lights which made our pictures look off, but I still love the way they turned out haha.

DeleteHappy belated birthday to your mom! It looks like you guys had a great time. Your dress is adorable!! I love SOME Chinese food. Chicken fried rice, egg rolls, and the ice cream they have at the Chinese buffet by my house are my favorites. :) For birthdays we usually go out to eat as well and for mine my dad will take me to dinner and we go shopping afterward. It's kind of a tradition for us. :)
