My Junior Prom Experience!

You guys may already know, but junior prom was last Sat. for me! As I am writing this post a week later, I can't help but feel that it went by so fast! By that I mean, it doesn't feel like it happened just a week ago! I feel like I spent so much time getting ready for it and now it's all over haha. It definitely was quite the experience and I really enjoyed every minute of it.
For my prom, I chose to wear this dress from Faviana. You guys might remember this post I made on it explaining how the dress was chosen by Ashley Benson for me!!

Blue hair clip, silver and gold heels

I literally waited till the week before to buy my heels and decide on my hair. I even dyed my hair the weekend before so I wouldn't have odd looking hair. haha I was just so lost on what shoes to wear. Everything looked good! I eventually settled on these heels because I loved the design of it. (and so does my mommy!) They were relatively easy to walk in since they were wedges!

I am not sure what the correct way to get ready for prom is, but I don't think I was following it lol. My date had plans to go to a restaurant before hand while I thought we were going to eat at his house. It was very confusing, but we figured things out and settled on eating at his house. (I didn't understand how I could eat in a prom dress?) We had Chinese food! Originally pasta was on the menu, but we figured it would be too messy.
After dinner, I changed into my dress (I'm not sure, but I don't think I was suppose to change at his house) and my mom and his Aunt took hundreds of pictures. It was really cool for both our families to be together. I was able to meet his mom, dad, aunt and little cousin (who was adorable!) It was a coincidence, but my mom actually saw his aunt before because she sometimes shops at the Chinese store she owns which is next the the restaurant my cousins own!!  The first thing my mom said when she saw his aunt was "I've seen you at the store before!" They had quite the conversation after this!

Date Pictures

When it came to taking photos, it was quite interesting. Both our families were snapping photos rapidly. My mom who has never used a camera before, just kept her hand on the shutter button which led to a photo every second. She captured our every movement and I bet we could make a mini stop motion movie with the photos! We wanted to take pictures outside; however, sadly it was pouring and freezing outside. I was fine with that though in the end because the photos we took inside the house were really nice! I even was able to get pictures with his little cousin!

Prom

I have been to other dances (homecoming) before, but nothing like prom. Albeit for homecoming, we had a professional DJ, it was held in out school cafeteria and felt less fancy to me. Junior prom on the other hand was held at the Marriott! It felt crazy to me because things like this only happen in movies right? haha
When I arrived at the hotel, it felt almost unreal that I had a dance there. The inside of the hotel was beautiful. The ceilings were so high and everything inside had a royal feel to it. I wished I had taken more photos of the inside/at prom, but I was so overwhelmed that I forgot to snap a few more pics. Plus it was slightly hard to take pictures in a dark room without flash haha.

Prom

Mystic Marriott Dance

The dancing that took place at prom was really something. We had a few slow dances, but most of the time, we danced the same way as we did at homecoming.... just with long dresses! I absolutely loved the decorations at prom. The candles and flower petals on the tables were stunning.
Junior prom was so much fun and felt like a bit like a fairy tale kind of night to me. It was definitely a once in a lifetime experience for me and I loved every second of it! There is no doubt in my mind that I will remember this dance forever and I cannot wait for senior prom next year! =)
