Jizo & Chibi - My Jizo Necklace

I just wanted to start this post off with a huge thank you to Valerie Johns over at Jizo & Chibi for allowing me this amazing opportunity to have one of their necklaces! I received this beauty in the mail last week and I was overjoyed to get it!

The necklace that I got was the Tiny Jizo.  The necklace is made of an 18K gold vermeil and is the perfect size for me! It's tiny, but packs a punch with the stunning finish it has. It can capture anyone attention.

Valerie created the image of Jizo for the first time when she was hiking to a hillside temple in Kyoto. Jizo Bodhisattva is known in Asia as the protector of women, children and travelers. Jizo is a teacher who passes on his knowledge to others. Jizo holds Chibi with him and teaches him the ways of life. He teaches us that at any given time, we can be free from suffering as long as we take time to enjoy ourselves in our busy lives.

For me, this necklace represents strength and peace. Jizo is the one to protect and teach Chibi. Being a student, I can have quite the hectic schedule sometimes. Jizo reminds me that I have the strength to make it as well as reminding me to make time for myself daily. With Jizo, I remember to cherish all the little moments in life. Whether that be a day out with my friends, an evening with my family, or even an hour to myself. Every moment in life counts and it is important to love every second of it!

The quote that represents this necklace from Jizo and Chibi-
“Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.” ~Robert Brault

XC Class!

On 12/12/12, I spend my night with none other than my cross country team!! I love everyone on the team so much and I can't believe the season is now *offically* over. We had our banquet that night where we all received our rewards.

For the banquet, we were told to dress formal so I chose to wear a dress perfect for the season..

The dress is the Lili Rose Lurex Dress from Kohls. It's a beautiful gold dress with a touch of glitter! The dress is just formal enough for the event and I love how it reminds me of the holidays.
The back of the dress is super cute. It has a little eye hook near the top with a gold bead. I love how versatile this dress is seeing how I can re wear it for Christmas parties coming up.

To style this dress, I chose to keep it classy and chic. It was cold that night so I paired the dress with some black leggings to keep my legs warm. I also chose to wear a pair of boots. I was contemplating wearing flats at one point, but stuck with boots as soon as I felt how cold it was outside.

For this event, my sister and my mommy came. My sister was the "amazing" photographer here and she snapped all the photos of me that you see. (she loves taking photos without me knowing as you can tell from the ones below)

I'm Beautiful, I know!
....? I seem to be looking at something....? lol
All the delicious treats we had!

What did you guys do on 12/12/12?
What do you wear to a holiday party?
For me, dresses are the way to go! You can style them up or down and they look super classy for the holidays!

Mini Black Friday Haul!

I can't believe it's already December! Thanksgiving was literally last week, yet it feel like it was a long time ago? At the same time it feels like just yesterday. It's hard to describe it, but this time of year always goes by slow and fast!
It must be the holidays causing this...

Anyway, guess who went shopping on Black Friday?
I did! After my filling dinner, I took a little nap and got myself out of bed and to the store. I picked up quite a few items for home and a few clothing items. I absolutely fell in love with two of my clothing pieces.

Here is a pair of jeans that I purchased for just 17.99! They are super cute and they are my first patterned jeans! They are grey colored and feature mini black hearts all over. These are just perfect with a cardigan and some boots!

This sweater is adorable! It's super lightweight and made of a soft fabric. I love running my hands over this fabric. The sweater is a lovely mint color and has roses over it. After recently dying my hair a blondish, I find that this mint/green color seems to compliment it really well. Red clothes don't look so hot on me anymore however...

Ohhh and guess what else I got...???? This is the main reason why I went shopping so early!!

I GOT A NEW WINDOWS 8 LAPTOP! (well technically, it's for my sister, but I am using it too!!!)

This is such a nice laptop! I got it for only 289 and about 2 hours of line waiting.. was it worth it? Yes!!
The laptop so far is really nice and running smoothly. The only thing is the setup of windows 8 is much different than windows 7 and it's taking some time to getting use to. I'm sure I will adapt to it soon!

Get the jeans here!

Did you go Black Friday Shopping?
Can You believe that it is almost 2013??!!?

I also wanted to put in here that I was thinking of hosting a few giveaways soon in 2013.. How do you guys feel about this? The prizes will be a single item most likely =)
