I just wanted to start this post off with a huge thank you to Valerie Johns over at Jizo & Chibi for allowing me this amazing opportunity to have one of their necklaces! I received this beauty in the mail last week and I was overjoyed to get it!
The necklace that I got was the Tiny Jizo. The necklace is made of an 18K gold vermeil and is the perfect size for me! It's tiny, but packs a punch with the stunning finish it has. It can capture anyone attention.
Valerie created the image of Jizo for the first time when she was hiking to a hillside temple in Kyoto. Jizo Bodhisattva is known in Asia as the protector of women, children and travelers. Jizo is a teacher who passes on his knowledge to others. Jizo holds Chibi with him and teaches him the ways of life. He teaches us that at any given time, we can be free from suffering as long as we take time to enjoy ourselves in our busy lives.
For me, this necklace represents strength and peace. Jizo is the one to protect and teach Chibi. Being a student, I can have quite the hectic schedule sometimes. Jizo reminds me that I have the strength to make it as well as reminding me to make time for myself daily. With Jizo, I remember to cherish all the little moments in life. Whether that be a day out with my friends, an evening with my family, or even an hour to myself. Every moment in life counts and it is important to love every second of it!
The quote that represents this necklace from Jizo and Chibi-
“Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.” ~Robert Brault
